Configuring Windows XP to Connect to York Tech's Wireless Network

  1. Click START

  2. Right-click on My Network Places

  3. Choose Properties

  4. Your computer may have more than one network connection. Right-click on the one for your wireless connector.

  5. Choose Properties

  6. The local area connection properties page displays as shown below.

  7. Select the Authentication tab

  • The box for Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network should be checked.

  • EAP type should be Protected EAP (PEAP)

  • The two boxes on the bottom should remain unchecked.

Nothing needs to be checked on the Protected EAP properties page.

Click on the Configure button and verify that the box is unchecked that says "Automatically use my Windows Logon name and password (and domain if any).

Press OK until the network properties windows close completely.
